Youth Development to Avoid Poverty UNFPA says

To rather end poverty among the populations of the world, youth must be dealt with in terms of education, social-reproductive aspects and health care, the United Nations Population Fund said to during the International Day today Eradicate Poverty.

According to the UNFPA to eradicate poverty, and then improve human conditions, there is first need to fully under the demographic developments of the world.

In a statement disclosed by the UNFPA Executive Director, Dr.Babatunde Osotimehin, “Poor countries with burgeoning youth populations may find it difficult to meet many of our global development goals.”

The UNFPA Executive director notes that it has been discovered over the years more people are entering primary and secondary school age and many more people looking for health care, others entering labour markets looking for productive jobs in the coming years hence on  creating economic demographic developments which are prompt of youth development.

This trend of demographic development is very important when adolescent girls are also allowed to enjoy their human rights and to achieve their potential.

To have more youthful productive youths, there is need of voluntary family planning, reduction of maternal deaths by a third on the world level, child death by a fifth, give birth to a few children that altogether render a favorable family structure that entails more working people than dependants.

This demographic dividend with youth empowerment including education and employment boosts development.

“With fewer dependents to support, parents can invest more in each child, have healthier children and spend more time earning money. By doing so, they will be able to speed up economic growth and social development, and create the conditions for raising living standards and reducing poverty,” says UNFPA’s Babatunde.

Demographic divinded development is in context with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that urges countries to totally eradicate extreme poverty by building on the success of the Millennium Development Goals.
